driving in california

Salams to all,

I think driver's education in California should be revised....I always see the too often: either toooooo slow drivers who think time is of no essence or people driving too fast and too close /or on the cell phone. I think most of the accidents according to some TV commercials is due to NOT PAYING ATTENTION to the driving. I try to take my time so I dont have to be speeding, but usually I do encounter the above on a daily basis. At school, I have been almost run over 3 times because parents are saying "goodbye" to their kids while not paying attention to the driving.....

Any comments????

Hold on Arwa. Are you hinting at my driving?? I am starting to use the ear piece because it is going to be illegal to drive while using a cell phone in CA.

It's not only CA...inattentive drivers seem to pop up anywhere there's a road.

They recently posted "Be alert--high accident area" signs all along my commute to work. Oddly enough, even just mentioning this seems to have some positive effect.

It's already illegal to drive while talking on a cell in DC.

It's also illegal to turn right on red--go figure!

Here, it is still legal to drive while talking on the cell. I guess, it is only for those drivers who can't concentrate in driving because of cell phone, or any other distraction such as makeup, eating, arguing with someone else in the car.....

I think text messaging while driving is becoming the newest trend--worse than talking.

test messaging is not a new trend amongst the tech swanky and young. I think that when individuals who are not young begin to utilize this technique it becomes quite dangerous. (laughing in my head at an image of me driving, please no more comments)
